Did anyone watch the Oscars last night? I didn’t, and I feel like the only person in the world who doesn’t. I’m kind of glad I didn’t though – that award mix up would’ve made this awkward soul cringe in her stripey pyjamas and slouchy socks.
Back to my story though…Omar was supposed to come out this weekend and unfortunately wasn’t able to make it out so I will be seeing his handsome face this coming weekend instead. However, his absence was made all the better when we received our lovely gallery this weekend from our photo session earlier this month by the wonderful Mikaela Ruth Photography. I actually almost didn’t make it out due to the horrible weather on the Coquihalla, but I’m so glad I did! Omar even threw me a surprise birthday weekend, you can see some of it here, and this photo session was the icing on the cake!
I’ve been following her photography and blog almost from the beginning. Long story short, I used to work for her husband, Shane (which is how I heard of her) and I would make her berry bowls almost every week when she would come into the store. I’ve been waiting 6+ years to have her take my photos and I have to admit, It’s weird/exciting to see your own face on a blog you’ve been following for so long!
I love every image so, SO much and I can’t wait to get them printed and plastered all over my walls ; Mikaela, you are such a gem and it was so lovely finally getting the chance to be in front of your camera. Omar and I both talked about how amazing you were and I told him we better start saving so we can hire you as our wedding photographer 😉
