Last month I had the absolute pleasure of second shooting alongside Christie of Christie Mickelson Photography. Not only is she a super talented photographer, I am also happy to call her a friend! I had only met Britney and Gerard that day, but their energy and love for one another is hard to miss. I was welcomed into their wedding day like an old friend from friends and family alike. Below is a look of their wedding day from my perspective, and here you can see Christie’s full post from the day.
I began the day at the Sandman Signature Hotel while the groom and his groomsmen and best lady (his sister) got ready…
Gerard’s sister, Heather, was his best lady and it was the sweetest thing watching them together as she helped her brother get ready to marry the love of his life.
I joked with the boys about how lucky they were to have a girl around while they got ready. Heather was a trooper as she helped all the boys fasten their boutonnieres and clip on suspenders all while keeping them on time 😉
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I LOVE when couples decide to do a first look. Not only is it a time for you to see each other in private before the ceremony, enjoying the moment for yourselves, it makes all those nerves disappear so when you walk down the aisle, you can take in the whole experience with your friends and family. It’s also an opportunity to get most of the photos done before the ceremony so once you’ve said you’re I do’s you can just relax and take the day in 🙂
Britney and Gerard, you two were made for one another.
Centenial Park in Westsyde was the perfect backdrop for photos 🙂
I instantly fell in love with the flowers Britney chose from Sheer Florals and Silk. Succulents are my love language…perhaps because they are the only plant I can keep alive!
And then we were off to Rainbow’s Roost to get these two love birds married…
Laine from Looks by Laine did a fantastic job with hair and makeup making all the girls look extra pretty.
I loved that they chose this beautiful silver sequined table cloth for their head table…and what about the succulent wedding favours?! I die!
Happy Tuesday!
