I have been waiting for April and Chloë’s wedding day for a long time. April and I had first met almost eleven years ago on a school trip to Ottawa. We spent the week as bunk buddies and for the life of me, I could never remember her name – thankfully I know it now 😉 So you could imagine my excitement when she asked me to photograph her wedding day!
April and Chloë got married at American Creek Lodge, a beautiful property just outside of Hope. The day was filled with lots of laughs, happy tears and even a cotton candy machine to top it all off! Their wedding was also the first wedding I have ever photographed where the dialogue from the blog post of their engagement session was used as the ceremony format! When I asked them about it later in the day (because I thought it had sounded familiar) they said that it was the best anyone has ever described their relationship and love…and then I cried happy tears and died.
April and Chloë, I cannot thank you enough for allowing me to be a part of your wedding day. Words can’t express how grateful I am to have not only wittnessed your love, but document it as well. Your love for one another is so raw and pure and I already have faith that it’s a love that will last a lifetime. You two are so incedibly lucky to have found one another and I wish you only the happiest as you continue your life as Mrs & Mrs…I hope you enjoy these sneak peeks of your wedding day! Much Love…J
I just about died when I noticed April had picked out a blush wedding dress!
Brittany from Brittany Michelle Beauty did an AMAZING job making the girls look extra polished for their wedding day…
The beautiful custom designed rings crafted by Dakota Deller all the way from New Zealand! They were absolutely stunning!
I love that Chloë opted for bright yellow shoes, they suited her personality perfectly.
Chloë had lived in India sometime ago and having these anklets from there certainly added a special touch to the day.
I LOVE when couples opt for a first look! It lends itself more time for photos and gets everything out of the way so you can enjoy cocktail hour and the evening with your friends and family…and theirs was just the sweetest!
Total unscripted adorable-ness!
By the way April and Chloë look at one another, you just know how much they love one another.
Let’s get you two married!
Simple but sweet bridal party…and they brought dat attitude 😉
Just kidding! They were actually super fun!
The BC wildfires made way for lots of smoke, but I didn’t mind…that view tho!
The freshly married Mrs & Mrs <3
A couple more portraits before the first dance.
Throughout the day I couldn’t help but stop and look at these two in awe. I don’t think I have ever seen two people more in love and who appreciate one another as much as these two do. This is their first dance as wife and wife as the live band Sweetz jammed in the background.
After a super sweet first dance, and after being brought to tears by how sweet April’s father daughter dance was, Chloë and her dad Phil had one of the most hilarious father daughters dances I’ve seen! Definitely started the night on the right foot. There was X-Files theme music, banana phones and of course, money 😉
And if you thought the day couldn’t get more fun, a photo booth and cotton candy stand began thanks to Jason from Vancouver Foto Bus and Cloud Nine Cotton Candy – hands down the best cotton candy I’ve ever had!
