Vancouver Wedding Photographer | 2020 Photography Review: Engagements + Portraits
Vancouver Wedding Photographer | Julie Jagt Photography
2020, what a year. With all the restrictions, self isolation, social distancing and having a mask to match every outfit, its a surprise we made it to the other side. But amongst all that, I was able to see the beauty in what I do. Celebrating milestones in ones life, the happiest celebrations and documenting love.
When putting together this post, I was worried there wouldn’t be much to share, but to my surprise I had more sessions in 2020 than I thought. I’m sure most of us can agree that 2020 went by both extremely quickly, but strangely slow at the same time. It will forever be unique bond the entire world shares with one another and it really made me realize we all have so much more in common than we think. And it feels quite special having a job that allows me to document all the little celebrations when the world felt like it was crumbling behind us. It really makes you stop and appreciate what you have and gave us time to strengthen the relations we already had.
Sure this year looked a little different – ie, less weddings, no hugs at the start of a session – I’m glad I was still able to do what I love. Scroll through for some of my favourite engagement and lifestyle photos from 2020…
Pitt Lake seemed to be a popular spot for me last year. It has always been a place I’ve been wanting to have a session, and I managed to do an engagement and maternity session as well as a wedding editorial throughout the year.
Thank you for all of your support! Here’s to a happy and healthy New Year! Much Love, julie
