A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of documenting Ayla and Scott’s second engagement session. I photographed their engagement session last summer, and was overjoyed when they asked me to take some photos before their venue walkthrough later the same day.
I love getting the chance to photograph couples who are as deeply in love like these two. Ayla and Scott are high school sweethearts. And to make things even sweeter, their wedding is in the same place where they held their high school graduation. It doesn’t get any better than that.
We went for a morning session and it had to have been the hottest day of the year thus far. I normally try to have my sessions at sunrise or sunset when the light is soft and glowy, but life doesn’t always work like that. Much like a wedding day, you can be given the least ideal of situations and make it work. This is why I focus so much on constantly learning, educating and continually growing in my field. There is always something new to learn, and a wedding day only happens once, so you have to be prepared.
I am always so happy to meet up with these two. They’re truly some of the kindest, sweet and funny people I have ever met and I cannot wait for their wedding early next year.
Scroll through to take a look at some of my favourite images from our time together…
The love these two share gets to me every time. They were high school sweethearts, and yet are still madly in love.
This is my favourite image from this session. It has a dreamy secret garden type feel and I am here for it.
