Faranak and Michael got married at UBC Rose Garden amongst all the flowers freshly in bloom. The day was threatened with rain, but the rain clouds passed just in time for the ceremony and portraits. We were even greeted by some sun here and there as the day went on.
There is something to be said about a smaller wedding and the cozy laid-back feel of it all. This wedding was filled with so much love and laughter and although I was there to photograph the love, I was greeted like an old friend.
Michael and Faranak met in university while both attending the same program. After sharing a few glances, Michael mustered up the courage to ask Faranak out for a date. Throughout the years, they stuck together through graduation, getting hired at the same company and eight years later Michael popped the question at a park they used to frequent while attending school. Through all the big milestones and the little moments in between, it all lead them to this moment.

The UBC Rose Garden is such a beautiful place for a wedding. Who wouldn’t want to be surrounded by roses on their wedding day?!

Then it was time for some portraits of just the two of them.
Then we went for a little walk to get some photos in this modern structure at UBC! I’ve always wanted to know where this was, and I was so happy when I found it.
During our time here, I showed Faranak this photo on the back of my camera and her response: We look like movies stars!
That’s my goal, boo.
