When I photograph my couples, I love to hear how they met, and Hayley and Steven’s is one of my favourites. Hayley got a job covering for someone who was going on maternity leave. That someone was Steven’s sister. Steven would come in to her booth as a customer and from their they developed a friendship and eventually a relationship.
When Hayley first reached out for photos, she was originally wanting some headshots for her business. We were finally able to do some photos after 2-3 postponements, and when they arrived, Hayley had a brand new shining ring on her finger and they were engaged! What a surprise to photograph and engagement session in such a beautiful space.
I had first seen this spot in Tsawwassen when I swapped headshots with Paige from Community Photography. I was discussing location ideas, and when I mentioned Beach Grove, they jumped on the idea as it is where Hayley grew up. They day was cloudy, which is some of my favourite weather for photos. We explored the area, shared some laughs and luckily ended the session before the rain came.
